her white wrap, in relation to each other and to the sky and landscape. Yet here is, too, a note of more significant expression; for, as she stands on those "wild sea banks",
not like Dido "with a willow in her hand" to wave back her love, but a modern Eve holding a green apple, her wistful look seems to hold in it all the maiden curiosity of the world."
