The publishers used a printing technique known as collotype printing which is a more technical and demanding method than today digital however offering a better result when dealing with media such as watercolour.
It lends itself thanks to the method not printing groups of dots but by tonal transfer of the colour in one movement thereby blending the colour to the page rather than spraying.
Sadly, this technique isn't commonly used due to the efficiency per print, but those that do use this method are seen as superior.
Recognized worldwide as a master of watercolour painting, Sir William Russell Flint's work enjoys the prominence of some of the finest and most experienced paintings of our time.
