Angouleme is a large town sout west of Limoges, and north west of Perigeux.
It is a beautiful town and well worth visiting.
Renowned for its production of chocolate, there are many shops selling the most exquiste tempting delights.
Angouleme has long been known for its festival of characatures, eg. cartoon images of Obleix and Asterix..
there is a large festival every year celebrating this, and many cartoon artists, buyers and sellers descend on the town, which makes for a festival atmosphere.
