Recognized worldwide as a fine watercolour master, Sir William's work enjoys the prominence amongst a collection of the finest and most experienced painters of our time.
Here we can see the depiction of seven woman by the communal bathhouse washing clothes. Again, the very distinct open archway architecture of the time and sun-bleached
walls a sign that this was a warm climate. For this European piece Sir William Russell Flint had been inspired by the community in Venice.
With special attention going to including the architecture in the reflection of the water which can be seen prominently in the centre of the water trough.
The reason for the titles name is derived from the pastime that would occur from this communal activity. In which the locals would be able to catch up and bond over doing a unified task.
This piece has been finished in a beautiful double mount specially chosen to compliment the colour palette used by Sir William Russell Flint.
Should you wish to explore the area in France that Sir William spent so much of his time this holiday house in the Dordogne can provide
a beautiful experience for those who enjoy the countryside and the many towns and villages of great character.
