A beautiful portrait of Cecilia , published in the year Sir William Russell Flint died.
Unfortunately, the inks and paper used was not the best light fast and acid free, so most of the edition has suffered somewhat from fading.
Making the few remaing copies in good condition, rare and sought after.
Although extremely difficult to execute, Russell Flint displays with ease the light texture of Cecilia's dress, with a few carefully placed strokes of the brush.
He once said that a painting should appear as though it had not been laboriously worked upon, but given the impression that everything had fallen perfectly into place.
